With only a few weeks left before the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sony has released the final trailer for the film.
The two-minute, 40-second video gives away much of the plot, so if you are wary of spoilers, it’s a trailer to avoid. It reveals that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) meets up with Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), who he hasn’t seen in years. Harry tells Peter that Oscorp has been watching Peter and Spider-Man and has plenty of tests for him.
Those battles include fights with Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Electro (Jamie Foxx). However, the trailer gives away a key battle with the Green Goblin. It’s been assumed that Spidey’s most iconic villain would be appearing in the film and this gives it away.
Sony has big plans for The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, which will be expanded to include Venom and Sinister Six films. The studio already has a third and fourth film planned, but director Marc Webb said this week that he’s not going to direct the fourth film. Sony certainly has plenty of time to find a replacement (and Webb has time to change his mind).
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2.
