Lena Dunham might quit acting when HBO's 'Girls' wraps

Lena Dunham is putting fear into her expanding fan base by threatening to quit acting once her show Girls ends. In Glamour’s April issue, Dunham talked about feeling relieved when she doesn’t have the pressure of acting on her mind.

Dunham, who will likely always be around in a writing and directing capacity, said she would rather write roles for other people than actually appear in front of the camera.

"I don't know if I'm going to want to act anymore. I'm always relieved on the days I don't have to. I'd rather give parts to other women than be the woman having the parts," she told Glamour.

Dunham, 27, just made her Saturday Night Live hosting debut this past weekend and after a self-professed bad joke backfired on her, she realized just how much wider of an audience SNL has than her show Girls.

When a fan tweeted to her that she “doesn't always have to get naked.,” her response was, ”Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He's been making me.”

However, she quickly deleted it. “I just made and deleted a not so great molestation joke. Sorry guys. I am really sleepy,” she wrote. “SNL has a way bigger audience than our usual cozy girls audience, so I was seeing a rash of very different kinds of twitter rage.”
