A man in a South Carolina Taco Bell was assaulted for not having good manners.
According to the Associated Press, authorities said that a 20-year-old man and his friend went to a local Taco Bell around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday when another man in a nearby booth asked him if he had burped without saying "excuse me."
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution noted that the police report stated that the man who asked the question became so irate that the two words were not uttered that he hit the victim with a chair and grabbed his throat.
In the police report, the victim alleged that the angry man hit him in the elbow with the chair before gripping his throat and trying to head-butt him.
A restaurant worker told the perpetrator to leave and other guests observed him getting into a white pickup truck.
So far, authorities do not know the suspect’s identity and no arrest have been made.
The victim did not suffer any serious injuries.
