Early last week, it was reported that singer Marc Cohn allegedly had an affair on wife and ABC anchor Elizabeth Vargas during her recent stint in rehab.
The New York Post's Page Six notes that numerous sources approached the paper last week with claims that the “Walking in Memphis” songwriter had the alleged affair with Ruth Zuckerman, a mutual friend of the couple and Flywheel co-founder. Supposedly, the affair was made known after the two were seen together while Vargas was undergoing treatment for alcoholism last fall.
“A mutual friend spotted Ruth with Marc and called Elizabeth,” a source claimed.
Cohn sent a statement to People to respond to the rumors. While he refused to divulge into the “private family matter,” he admitted that these tough times have been trying for everyone involved.
He added, "I have been supportive of Elizabeth in the past – and will continue to be – regardless of the long-standing issues in our relationship."
Cohn and Vargas have been married since 2002. Vargas has yet to comment.
