Folk music royalty Martha Wainwright is writing a memoir called Stories I Might Regret Telling You, and will be on shelf in early 2016.
According to the Associated Press, the memoir will cover topics such as her family, love affairs, and her experimentation with drugs and alcohol. Wainwright has a deal with Flatiron Books, an imprint of Macmillan.
Wainwright is a Canadian American folk-rock singer-songwriter. Her albums include Martha Wainwright, I Know You’re Married But I’ve Got Feelings Too, Come Home to Mama, and Trauma: Chansons de la series tele Saison 4. Wainwright released her music with the independent record label, Rounder Records. Her songs, “The Traitor” and “Tower of Song,” were performed at the Leonard Cohen tribute.
Wainwright is the daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and the late Kate McGarrigle.
Her older brother is Rufus Wainwright. He recorded seven albums and contributed to numerous film soundtracks. His career extends two decades, according to Drowned in Sound.
