It's the end of the road for ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which has been canceled after only one season.
ABC's Once Upon a Time features everyone's favorite fairy tale characters, from Snow White to Jiminy Cricket, as they leave their magical land behind and live in the real world. The series inspired show producers to launch a spin-off, called Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which was based around Alice in Wonderland. Entertainment Weekly reports that the spin-off has been canceled after just one season. The series will complete its 13-episode run by airing the series finale on April 3.
IGN points to the series' 8 p.m. Thursday time slot as the show's ultimate downfall, a slot ABC has tried to fill with little success. Once Upon a Time in Wonderland played before ABC hit evening shows Grey's Anatomy at 9 p.m. and Scandal at 10 p.m. The spin-off was supposed to air in Once Upon a Time's Sunday night spot while the original show was on hiatus, but ABC executives pushed for a fall premiere.
Once Upon a Time is still expected to be renewed for a fourth season.
