Some controversy has surrounded the movie from filmmaker Darren Aronofsky. Conservatives have claimed that the film isn’t close enough to the Old Testament. It's been highly chronicled along the way, much of which was based upon either speculation or hearsay or old information."
Paramount spoke to religious leaders before the movie started filming. After many screenings and much discussion over the final cut of the movie, the movie is a topic of discussion among fans. Paramount was asked to add a disclaimer to their advertising for the film, but in the end, Moore decided that “artistic license” had been taken.
Filmmaker Darren Aronofsky said that the subject matter on which Noah was based was of great interest to him for some time. He said that the movie is for everybody.
