By Kyle Johnson,

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 actor Patrick Brennan has been tapped to play Marcus Daniels, otherwise known as Blackout, for ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

Blackout will appear in the upcoming 18th episode of the freshman season for the series, according to Marvel.com, who first reported the news. He will then also appear in the following episode.

The site notes that Blackout's power has been altered somewhat. The show's version of the character is capable of pulling energy out of things that are around him.

Brennan said he didn't have to read for the role, "they actually offered it to me." He noted that he has already appeared in the ABC show before.

Variety reports that Brennan's character will fall for a cello player in his episode. The cello player is being played by Amy Ackers.

Brennan said the producers explained that everything about Blackout is "shrouded in darkness until he comes across this Cello player. And the music was the only light that came into his soul."

Marvel's Agents returns with new episodes to ABC on April 1.
