Aretha Franklin celebrates her 72nd birthday with Denzel Washington and Babyface.
The Queen of Soul was surrounded by Denzel Washington, Andre 3000, Clive Davis, and Babyface when she held an exclusive party on Saturday at the Ritz-Carlton in New York City. Franklin said that she was working on new music with Andre 3000 and Babyface, who is working on the tracks for the new album. Babyface is also working with Toni Braxton on After Midnight, a show running in Harlem through March 30.
According to the Associated Press, Franklin said, "So, I'm just waiting for him to finish that so he can finish my tracks please.”
It seemed like a fine request for her birthday. Franklin took a moment to make all of her birthday wishes clear. She said she hopes for a record deal for her granddaughter, Victorie, and her son, Kecalf.
Franklin is continuing to dazzle her fans. She recently appeared at the Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, performing hits like Natural Woman, Think, and Something He Can Feel. She also paid tribute to Whitney Houston with her version of I Will Always Love You, according to the Examiner.
