Real-life ‘Modern Family’ house on the market

By Andrew Wilson,

The house we all recognize as Claire and Phil Dunphy’s from ABC’s Modern Family is now listed on the market, with an asking price of $2.35 million.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the house is located in the Cheviot Hills area of West Los Angeles. The exterior of the 2,792-square-foot, four-bedroom house is regularly captured by the ABC camera crew, while the interior scenes are shot on a sound stage recreated in a similar layout to the home.

The Wall Street Journal reported that current owner Paul Chiames is paid a fee from the studio for each shot. Chiames is relocating for professional reasons, and purchased the home for $1.97 million in 2006.

Redfin has several pictures of the exterior and interior, describing it as a “two story, traditional home." Current owner Chiames has said he has fans of the show drop by on a regular basis wanting to take photos of the front of the house and even knock on the door asking for tours.
