Rihanna is constantly wowing us with her style choices, always looking absolutely amazing. She’s become so much more than just a pop singer and many consider her one of the biggest celebrity fashion icons. She’s such a fashion risk taker and is always decked out in full couture.
She’s received so many music awards, including an icon award at last year's American Music Awards, and now she’s receiving an award to honor her in the fashion world. News Day reports that The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. announced on Monday that Rihanna will be receiving the CFDA Fashion Icon Award this year. She will be presented with the award on June 2 at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
According to Elle, CFDA CEO Steven Kolb announced, “We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory.”
This award is for those whose style has made a huge impact on pop culture all around the world. Other celebrities like Lady Gaga, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman have also received this same award.
Between her constant hairstyle changes, risk-taking style and bold beauty, this pop singer, fashion designer and face of MAC’s Viva Glam collection is “one of the most predictably unpredictable fashion stars of late.”
