By Chelsea Lewis,

Rock 'n' roll legends The Rolling Stones postponed their scheduled Australian tour date following the death of L'Wren Scott.

The band was going to be taking the stage at Perth Arena this evening. However, after the news of Mick Jagger's girlfriend's sudden death, the band announced they would not be playing.

Scott, died of an apparent suicide. The acclaimed fashion designer had been dating the Rolling Stones frontman for more than a decade, as we previously reported.

Late yesterday afternoon, management for the upcoming tour announced
that the show would not be going ahead as scheduled. Ticket holders have been asked to hold onto their ticket until another date is announced. No other information was provided in the statement.

The statement was released hours after Scott's death was first reported.

The next stop on the Australian tour is on Saturday, March 22. It's not known yet if that tour date will have to be postponed and rescheduled as well, Billboard reported.

The Stones have not been in Australia since 2006 with their A Bigger Bang tour.
