By Daniel S Levine,

Oscar nominated actress Rooney Mara is reportedly set to star in Pan, the Peter Pan origin film in the works at Warner Bros. The film is being directed by Joe Wright and already stars Garrett Hedlund as Captain Hook.

Mara is reportedly in talks to play Tiger Lily, TheWrap and The Hollywood Reporter both reported. The character is the young Indian girl Peter rescues in J.M. Barrie’s classic story.

Hedlund was cast in January. Hugh Jackman has also been linked to the Blackbeard villain role.

Pan is set to be a revisionist version of the Barrie tale of the boy who never grew up. Peter will be around 10 to 12 years old in the film and the role has not been cast yet.

Sarah Schechter, Greg Berlanti and Paul Webster are producing and Jason Fuchs wrote the script.

Mara is best known for her roels in David Fincher’s The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She recently appeared in Ain’t Them Bodies Saints and is making a Terrence Malick film.

Pan is currently scheduled for July 17, 2015.
