Simon Cowell's first interview since becoming a father: 'I wouldn't rule out' more kids

Simon Cowell is settling into fatherhood nicely, having welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Lauern Silverman just last month. The 54-year-old mogul admitted to feeling some hesitation about fatherhood but once baby Eric was born he knew it was a perfect fit for him.

In the first interview since becoming a father, Cowell sat down with his ex, Extra’s Terri Seymour and talked candidly about his new role.

“I actually said to Lauren beforehand, 'What if I like the dogs more than him?' -- and she said, 'You're gonna be absolutely fine,' and then literally within seconds of him being born, I got it!” he told Extra.

He went on to say about naming the baby after his father, "I look at him, Eric, and I think of my dad all the time, so it's a really good thing.” He also said they will soon bring Eric to meet his mother in London.

Speaking of London, that’s where Cowell was when Silverman began to go into labor. He was there working on Britain’s Got Talent on Valentine’s Day when he got the phone call.

“Phone rings at half past five in the morning, 'I’m about to give birth [said Lauren],' so we had to find a flight, which we did, and I got there with two hours to spare,” he said.

Now that he’s enjoying fatherhood so much, he said he now wants more than one child.

“I wouldn't rule out [more children]! Well, I got Squiddly and Diddly, and I couldn't imagine Squiddly or just Diddly… I had a brother when I was younger, so I kind of think it’s cool to have two or three… two,” he explained.
