By Alicia Mayle,

Three men, including an off-duty police officer, were killed and a fourth was injured in a shooting at Last Call Bar in Fremont, Ohio early Sunday morning.

The unidentified gunman fired four bullets after a bar fight occurred.

The three men who were killed were identified as 26-year-old police officer Jose Andy Chavez, 28-year-old bartender Ramiro Sanchez, and 25-year-old Daniel Ramirez. The fourth person, 25-year-old Ramiro Arreola, was airlifted to the hospital to be treated for his injury.

According to the Reuters, two detectives are stationed at the hospital hoping to talk to Arreola about the event and to see if he can identify the shooter.

At this time authorities are still looking for the shooter. No positive ID has been made besides a description of a “short male,” according to the Associated Press.

“It is sad that an altercation in a bar went so terribly out of control. I am sad for all of the victims and their tragic deaths,” Police Chief Tim Wiersma said. “All of the victims were from our community and, yes, one being a fellow police officer makes it even harder.”

No arrests have been made at this time. Authorities from the state Bureau of Criminal Investigations will be helping Fremont police with this investigation.

“We are actively investigating leads from people who were at the scene upon our arrival and need witnesses to come forward with information,” Wiersma said.

If anyone has any information about the shooting or the shooter, they can contact Police Chief Tim Wiersma.
