Tyler Perry's 'Have and Have Nots' finale is most-watched OWN show ever

The Have and Have Nots, a drama series created by multi-hyphenate Tyler Perry, smashed ratings records for Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network. The season finale became the most-watched show ever for the cable network.

Tuesday’s episode drew a whopping 3.6 million viewers, which is fantastic for a cable show in the middle of the week. According to The Wrap, that set an overall OWN record for most total viewers.

If you break the numbers down by demographic, the show still looks good. The episode ranked No. 2 in OWN’s key demo, women 25-54. It wasn’t able to top the Oprah’s Next Chapter episode with Whitney Houston’s family in that demo.

It was a major jump from the season one finale for Have and Have Nots. Deadline reports that it was up 38 percent over that episode, which was seen by 2.6 million viewers.

The Have and Have Nots’ second season kicked off on Jan. 7 with 2.8 million viewers. Its fifth episode of the season drew 3.4 million viewers.

OWN recently made headlines for its Lindsay Lohan reality series Lindsay, which features the troubled actress trying to put her life back together. The premiere episode only drew 700,000 viewers Sunday night.
