The Voice is back for another night of the battle rounds. Kicking off the night was Team Shakira. Clarissa Serna went up against Jeremy Briggs in the first battle of the evening. The duo sang “Cold As Ice” by Foreigner. Levine started off the comments by saying that the best part of the battle was how it concluded. In the end he chose Serna to remain on Team Shakira. After much discussion, Shakira decided to keep Serna on her team.
Next up was Team Adam who chose to have Caleb Elder go up against Delvin Choice. Going into this battle they had to perform Team Adam’s mentor current chart topping single, “The Man.” Shelton added that he could tell that both vocalists had fun on stage but that both had problems. Usher added that Choice really “took the audience to church” when he hit the high notes but he also saw the strengths within Elder. Shakira echoed Shelton by saying that both vocalists had fun on stage. The final decision came down to Levine, who chose to advance Choice.
In a few quick updates, it was shown that Megan Ruger won the battle for Team Shelton performing Avril Lavigne’s “My Happy Ending” and Team Shakira advanced Ddendyl who sang “I Feel The Earth Move.” The country duo The Brothers Walker from Team Usher was sent home, losing their battle to Morgan Wallen.
The final battle of the night went to Team Usher. Brittnee Camelle was paired up against Melissa Jimenze. They performed “Give It To Me Right,” by Melaine Fiona. Levine said that even though Jimenze hit a fantastic note at the end of the song, Camelle won the battle overall. Shelton added that this is one of the best-paired battles in a long time but for him Jimenze won the battle.
Everything came down to which member of his team Usher wanted to advance, in the end; Jimenze was able to stay on Team Usher. Within the first few moments, Levine and Shakira both hit their buttons to steal Camelle so the choice was up to her on which team to join.
The battle rounds will continue next week on NBC.
