'The Voice' recap: Blind auditions conclude

By Chelsea Lewis ,

With each coach only having one spot left on their team, the last night of blind auditions came down to the vocalists giving it everything they have in order to join Team Blake, Shakira, Usher or Adam.

The first vocalist up to the blind audition stage was Joe Trombino. Trombino decided to sing “Love and Happiness.” Even with dance moves for days and some high vocal runs, none of the coaches turn around for Trombino.

Kaleigh Glanton followed Trombino on the stage. She performed “Have You Ever Seen The Rain.” Levine instantly turned his chair around for Glanton after hearing the first note. Shakira closely followed suit and also turned her chair around for Glanton, along with Shelton and right after Shelton was Usher. Making her performance a four-chair turn. In the end, after much deliberation and discussion from the coaches, she decided to become the last member of Team Blake.

Brittnee Camelle took her place on the blind audition stage next. Camelle put her own unique spin on “Skyscraper” which was originally performed by Demi Lovato. Usher turned around about halfway through the performance. At the very last possible moment, Shakira also turned around for Camelle. Shakira said that she should join her team because as a female artist she understands how to coach a female artist. In the end, she decided to become the last member of Team Usher.

Beau Thomas took the stage next. For his blind audition song, he decided to sing “You Are The Best Thing.” Even with a passionate performance, he could not get any of the coaches to turn around.

The only two coaches with spots left on their team were Shakira and Adam. Next to the stage was Lindsay Bruce. Bruce decided to sing “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” by the Eli Young Band. Shakira and Levine both turned around for Bruce. In the end, she decided to join Team Shakira.

The final audition of the night went to Caleb Elder. “Groove Me” was the song that Elder decided to perform. Levine hit his button within the first few moments of the performance and Elder became slightly shocked and stopped singing. With this button push Elder became the last member on Team Adam.

With that groovy performance this concluded the last night of the blind auditions and next week will start the now famous battle rounds on The Voice on NBC on Monday and Tuesday.
