Aerosmith announces summer tour with Slash

By Chelsea Lewis ,

Aerosmith has just announced that they will be heading out on a summer concert tour along with rock 'n' roll sensation Slash and the band debuted their tour announcement by going back into their own past. The band recently returned to a stage they had not played on in many years. In fact, the last time that Aerosmith played at the Whiskey a Go Go was back in Whiskey back in 1973.

Upon announcing their upcoming tour the band took the stage and played a six-song set, Billboard reported.

The "Let Rock Rule" tour will kick off on July 10 at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York, Philly.com detailed.

As their special performance came to an end Steven Tyler, frontman of Aerosmith, took a moment to address the crowd. "The first time we played here was December 3, 1973. It was the first time formally here but also the first time in California. The first time west of the Mississippi was right here! That was then and this is now. And look what happened," said Tyler.

Their entire six-song set was posted on the Live Nation YouTube channel. Watch the whole show here:
