With the final season of How I Met Your Mother ending on CBS, the cast leads of the popular show are looking forward to life after the series.

Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor, and Cobie Smulders all have plans to continue their careers in various acting roles after nine years on the set of How I Met Your Mother, reported USA Today.

Harris, who played Barney, will be opening up for the title role in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch on April 22. In addition to this role, his latest films include A Million Ways to Die in the West and Gone Girl.

Segel, who portrayed Marshal in the series, has the comedy film Sex Tape, where he co-stars with Cameron Diaz, coming out on July 25 in addition to drama The End of the Tour.

Segel’s onscreen wife, Lily, played by Hannigan, is planning to continue her dominance on the small screen, playing a mother and wife again in the CBS pilot More Time with Family.

Radnor, who plays Ted, will be taking a break from acting before acting in an independent film. Radnor also has goals to possibly pursue a career on stage as well as finishing a script.

Final lead cast member, Smulders, will reprise her role as Maria Hill in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron.

As previously reported, the final episode of How I Met Your Mother premiered Monday night at 8 p.m.
