After being featured as a mentor to all four coaches on this season of NBC's The Voice, Chris Martin and his band Coldplay will be returning to NBC for their own music special, Ghost Stories.

Coldplay, Paul Normandale and Misty Buckley came up with the idea for the special.

The Hollywood Reporter added that the group will be performing a one-hour broadcast that will air one day before their sixth studio album is released. The show will be seen on Sunday, May 18 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Along with playing songs off of their latest album, the band will also be performing classics such as "Viva La Vida," "Paradise" and "Clocks."

USA Today added that this special was filmed back in March in Los Angeles in front of an audience of 800. The special will feature 360-degree imagery shot and was directed by Paul Dugdale, the mastermind behind Coldplay's Live 2012 concert film.

Following this TV special, Coldplay will be taking the stage at UCLA's Royce Hall when the album is released on May 19. This will be one of six intimate tour dates that have scheduled around the release of the album. The band can also be seen on Saturday Night Live as the musical guests on May 3.
