Demi Lovato looks amazing and healthy on the Summer 2014 cover issue of Cosmopolitan for Latinas as she rocks a white plunging neckline top and nude lip. The Neon Lights singer opened up about life after battling issues with substance abuse and cutting and said she'd like to be a role model.

Lovato had it all, even as a little girl, but she still wasn’t happy.

“It was that loneliness you get when you’re sad and it’s the middle of the night, and even though you have family and friends to call, it’s hard to pick up the phone,” she told the magazine.

As she grew up, the problem got worse, and Lovato turned to drugs, alcohol and cutting to ease the pain. However, a trip to Kenya for the Free the children charity on her 21st birthday, gave her a new perspective.

“I always imagined my 21st being a huge party where I’d get shit-faced and go crazy. But I realized that there’s so much more to life than that,” she added.

Lovato revealed she wants to be a role model for young girls and is focusing on her career and fans.

She has currently teamed up with Shazam to help the singer choose which cities in Europe to visit during her tour, according to Billboard.
