Disney's animated feature Frozen has taken over the movie and the music industry. The movie has topped the box office, broken records all around the world and the film's soundtrack has logged another week at the top of the album charts. The lead single from the film, "Let It Go," is even gaining radio airplay. Even with this massive success, Disney is currently not developing a sequel to the film.
Disney chairman, Alan Horn, recently spoke at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival and said that, in regards to Frozen, they are working on a Broadway show for the film and not a sequel at this time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Horn also said that a sequel has not yet been discussed by Disney at all at this point. Their sole focus is to work on the Broadway show adaptation of Frozen.
The Huffington Post added that, in North America, Frozen is the biggest film for Walt Disney Animation Studios, but is not the highest grossing film for Disney; both The Lion King and Toy Story 3 have made more at the box office.
