The soundtrack to Frozen has been atop the Billboard 200 music chart for eight weeks, which is behind only Adele's 21 for most weeks at the No. 1 position.

Billboard reported that since the charts started using point of sale data from Soundscan back in 1991, Frozen is only one of 20 albums to spend least eight weeks in the top position on the charts.

The soundtrack which features the hit single "Let It Go" has now sold over 1.8 million copies and most of those have been sold this year. Making the Disney soundtrack the best selling album of 2014 with Beyonce's self titled release coming in second place.

Frozen also recently became the highest grossing animated feature film of all time. Passing classics like The Lion King, Toy Story 3 and Shrek, the Washington Post reported. The feature film has grossed over $1.072 billion since it was released. The film also set records when it was released on home video.

Albums from Shakira and Johnny Cash round out the top three on the album charts this week for the Billboard top 200.
