George Clooney's fiancee Amal Alamuddin's law firm confirms plans to marry

By Gina DiFalco,

It’s official – the man who has sworn off marriage publicly is definitely engaged to marry British lawyer Amal Alamuddin. Her law firm released a statement confirming the engagement on Monday.

“The barristers and staff of Doughty Street Chambers offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms Amal Alamuddin, a member of Chambers, and Mr George Clooney on their engagement to be married," the firm told Reuters.

While Clooney’s rep wouldn't comment on the rumors, reports started surfacing that they were engaged when Alamuddin was seen wearing a diamond ring on her engagement finger on Thursday.

Clooney, 52, and Alamuddin, 36, started dating in October. The Oscar winner has been married previously to Talia Balsam, who he divorced in 1993, and he has publicly stated he would never remarry.

Sources told Us Weekly about the relationship, “This is the healthiest relationship I've ever seen George in.”

He’s famously dated Stacy Keibler, Elisabetta Canalis and Lisa Snowden in recent years. Check out a list of his exes.
