Sources close to Gwen Stefani are coming out saying that the No Doubt singer is in talks to replace Christina Aguilera for season 7 of The Voice this fall.
TMZ first reported the story, and notes that sources told the site that producers began searching for a replacement soon after Aguilera announced her pregnancy back in February. The alleged deal is said to be for one season only.
However, an NBC representative told Us Weekly earlier in the week that, "We haven't made any decisions at this point."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stefani will be one of a few new faces to appear on the show's seventh season. Pharrell Williams is taking over for Cee Lo Green. This following a host of guest mentors this season including artists like Aloe Blace, Miranda Lambert, and the Band Perry.
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are likely to return as coaches. Supposedly, Aguilera will be ready to return for The Voice in season 8. NBC has refused to respond to the recent developments.
