A couple in Cincinnati, Ohio experienced a chilling encounter with a hacker who somehow got access to their 10-month-old daughter Emma’s baby monitor.
Emma’s mother, Heather Schreck, said she was woken up in the middle of the night by a man’s voice. She then woke up her husband, Adam Schreck, when she looked at the monitor on her cell phone and saw it moving, terrified because she wasn’t moving it.
"About the time I saw it moving, I also heard a voice again start screaming at my daughter. He was screaming, ‘Wake up baby. Wake up baby.' Then just screaming at her trying to wake her up,” she told Cincinnati’s Fox19.
When her husband entered the room, the camera moved from the baby’s crib directly to him. "Then it screamed at me. Some bad things, some obscenities. So I unplugged the camera,” he explained.
This isn’t the first story of its kind, as back in August 2013, KTRK in Houston, Texas reported that a hacker broke into the Gilbert family’s monitor and screamed obscenities at their two toddlers. "It felt like somebody broke into our house," said their father Marc Gilbert.
