Justin Bieber skips court after Coachella appearance

Justin Bieber missed his court hearing for a pending assault charge, shortly after appearing at Coachella for a surprise performance.

According to The Music Times, Bieber missed his scheduled court appearance on Monday in Toronto, regarding his assault charge filed against him on January 29.

It appears that Bieber’s appearance with Chance the Rapper at Coachella on Sunday added to him not being able to show up to court the following day.

Bieber is facing charges of assault after allegedly hitting a limousine driver multiple times in the back of the head, after he and his friends were picked up by the limo after a night of partying in December.

According to NME, Bieber also missed his court appearance in Toronto last month. Despite his absence, dozens of fans showed up in hopes of seeing the pop star. This time, however, there were no fans there.

Bieber’s lawyers reportedly stood in for him at court to give disclosure and the case has been scheduled to return on May 12.
