The next time Kanye West’s Australian fans see him, Yeezus may no longer be his most recent album. The “Black Skinhead” rapper and Live Nation Australia confirmed Tuesday that his tour Down Under has been delayed so he can make a new album.
West was supposed to tour the country next month, reports The Sydney Morning Herald. However, the dates will be rescheduled for September.
“Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia,” West and the tour promoter said in a joint statement.
For those worried in the U.K. and Europe, the 2015 tour there will still happen, reports Billboard. West is “looking forward to returning to the U.K.. and Europe for a full tour in January 2015,” Live Nation said.
The tour’s delay also comes as West and Kim Kardashian are planning their wedding. They are reportedly tying the knot in Paris on May 24.
Yeezus was a big hit in Australia, reaching No.1 there in June. He hasn’t toured Australia since 2012’s Big Day Out Tour. The new tour dates will run from Sept. 5 in Perth to Sept. 15 with a date in Brisbane. He will also visit Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
