Kim Novak addresses 'bullies' who criticized plastic surgery after Oscars

Kim Novack is breaking her silence on the harsh comments made about her face after she presented with Matthew MacConaughey at the Academy Awards in February.

The 81-year-old actress addressed the comments, which criticized her plastic surgery, in a Facebook post titled “Kim Novak speaks out about Oscar bullying.”

She admitted in an interview that the comments from people like Donald Trump, who said she should “sue her plastic surgeon,” sent her into a “tailspin.”

“I’m not going to deny that I had fat injections in my face,” she wrote. “They seemed far less invasive than a face-lift.” She added, “In my opinion, a person has a right to look as good as they can, and I feel better when I look better.

She went on to say that she had received a standing ovation from her peers at the Cannes Film Festival last year, but she did not get the same respect from the media after the Oscars.

“I had taken a pill to relax—that I shouldn’t have taken. I had been fasting for three days and it affected my behavior. I regret taking it,” she admitted.

After she posted the message on Facebook, she told People on Thursday "It really did throw me into a tailspin and it hit me hard. For days, I didn't leave the house, and it got to me like it gets kids and teenagers.”

Novack ended her letter by saying she will no longer hold back from bullying behavior, saying “We can't let people get away with affecting our lives."
