By Daniel S Levine,

MTV announced its summer slate in New York at its upfront presentation for advertisers on Thursday. The network confirmed that Real World, Girl Code and the Jersey Shore spinoff Snooki & JWOWW have been renewed. It also announced a new series set in Alaska called Sladnecks.

For anyone worried that MTV is drifting even further away from music, the network did announce 9 Days and Nights, a documentary series that focuses on an artist’s major turning point in their lives. The series will start on June 10 with an episode on Ed Sheeran. MTV also said the Artists To Watch campaign will continue to highlight new artists.

Teen Wolf will start its fourth season on Monday, June 23 at 10 p.m.

July starts off with Finding Carter is a new drama that will start on July 8 at 10 p.m. It is about Carter, who believes she has the perfect life until police tell her that her mother had abducted her when she was a toddler and isn’t her biological mother. MTV picked up the show in January.

Rob Dyrdek’s Ridiculousness will be back on July 10 at 10 p.m. with his new Snack-Off series following it at 10:30 p.m.

Slednecks will be a half-hour series about a group of friends living in the “Wild, Wild West of Alaska.” It will give a unique look at their lives, which are more dangerous than what citizens in the lower 48 deal with.

One Bad choice is another new show about young people and one really bad decision that changed them forever. Finally, Beyond Dance is about professional dancers who push the boundaries of the art form and will be hosted by Jason Dundas.

Finally, MTV said that Nick Cannon Presents: Wild ‘N Out has earned a second season on MTV2.
