The MTV Movie Awards will feature a tribute to Paul Walker on April 13.
Walker, who starred in multiple films in the Fast & Furious series, died in a car crash on Thanksgiving weekend. The network has decided to honor his memory during the MTV Movie Awards, which, according to the Los Angeles Times, MTV President Stephen Friedman said was the proper thing to do.
In the past, Walker has won for the category of Best Kiss and Best Gut-wrenching Performance. Back in 2002, Walker and co-star Vin Diesel won Best Pair at the awards show.
“Paul Walker was a role model for the MTV audience since the very beginning of his too-short career. Our audience grew up with him, from ‘Varsity Blues’ to the ‘Furious’ franchise,” Friedman said. “He was a movie star but one that they could relate to.”
It is believed that the tribute will include a highlight reel. Jordana Brewster, one of Walker’s co-stars from the Fast & Furious movies, will have the honor of paying tribute to him, according to Inquisitr.
