'Scandal' star Columbus Short's wife files for divorce, restraining order after domestic violence incident

By Gina DiFalco,

Scandal star Columbus Short’s wife, Tuere Short, has accused her husband of threatening to kill her with a knife. She has obtained a temporary restraining order against him in light of the incident.

Tuere filed the legal documents on April 15 after their April 7 fight, which allegedly started when the actor lunged at his wife with a wine bottle while intoxicated.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Tuere claimed in the documents that she ran away from him after he poured the wine on her and he became enraged, subsequently threatening to kill both her and himself with a kitchen knife.

It didn’t stop there – as she said he accused her of having affairs. When she managed to leave the house with their 2-year-old daughter he tried to slash her tires when she was leaving the driveway.

TMZ reports part of the restraining order requires him to move out of the home they share together with their daughter. She also filed for divorce, asking for full custody of their only child together.

The actor was recently arrested twice for domestic violence incidents involving his wife.

Scandal’s season finale airs Thursday night on ABC.
