KTLA reporter Courtney Friel has become a viral celebrity thanks to her reporting on a wildfire near Los Angeles Tuesday. It’s not because of her skill as a journalist, but actually because of what a shirtless man carrying a dog asked her on live television.
Friel saw the man on the sidewalk and asked him if he lived around where she and her crew were reporting. He said he did, but before she could ask him another question, he said, “Wow, you're super pretty, you wanna go on a date sometime?”
According to Today, Friel told the man that they were on live television and just continued to ask him questions about the fire. “Do you live in one of these houses? Are you evacuating?” she asked him.
He again said he lives in the area and he only left his house to check out the fire. “It's pretty cool,” he told Friel.
KTLA apparently got that they had a potentially viral video on their hands and posted it on YouTube with the title “Shirtless Man Asks Out KTLA Anchor During Wildfire.”
As for Friel, she has continued using her Twitter feed to report on the fire, but posted another video of the incident. “Wonder where he would have taken me on a date?” she tweeted.
