Rumor has it that Steven Spielberg will be involved with the sequel to the 1985 classic, the Goonies.
According to TMZ, Richard Donner has revealed more information about the movie, that once again he will be working with the original writer and executive producer.
While being followed by the paparazzi in Beverly Hills, the director playfully revealed that Spielberg is in on and wrote a new story for the long-overdue sequel.
However, it is not verified as to what Spielberg will actually be doing. When asked if the writer would be involved, Donner replied, “Of course. Steven came up with the idea of doing a sequel after 30 years, we won’t do it without him.”
Donner’s goal for the second film is to have the entire cast reunite and it seems pretty likely if Spielberg is on board.
Earlier this month, Goonies star Corey Feldman seemed pretty excited about the idea of a sequel, questioning the film to be fact or fiction.
