Revenge is a recurring theme in this week’s new releases. A son sets out to avenge his father’s death and jilted lovers look for payback.

A woman discovers that her husband is cheating and then befriends his mistresses in The Other Woman. The three women form an unlikely bond and try to take down the man they all once loved. Leslie Mann, Cameron Diaz, Kate Upton and Nicki Minaj star in the PG-13 film. The comedy plays for one hour and forty-nine minutes.

An undercover cop seeks revenge for the murder of his father in Brick Mansions. He reluctantly teams up with an ex-con whose girlfriend was kidnapped by the same man. They must navigate through the dangerous walled city to stop him from terrorizing the rest of Detroit. The PG-13 thriller stars the late Paul Walker, David Belle and the Wu Tang Clan’s RZA. It runs for one hour and twenty-nine minutes.

College students conduct an experiment to prove the validity of supernatural powers in The Quiet Ones. Based on real events, the students investigate a mentally disturbed young woman with dark secrets. The PG-13 horror film runs for one hour and thirty-eight minutes.

A loner heads back to his hometown with revenge on his mind in Blue Ruin. Lacking the skills for murder, he gets caught up in a vicious brawl while defending his family. The limited released thriller runs for one hour and thirty minutes. It’s rated R for violence and language.

A successful family man on the verge of a career advancement receives a life changing phone call in Locke. All that he has worked and lived for could be lost if he makes the wrong decision. The one hour and twenty-five minute thriller takes place over the course of one car ride. The limited released film is rated R for language.

A life-like robot with artificial intelligence has the ability to both kill and save lives in The Machine. While the inventor hopes it can help save his daughter from an illness, the British Ministry of Defence sets out to use it as a weapon. The limited released Sci-fi thriller runs for one hour and thirty-one minutes. It’s rated R for violence and language.

Commuters fear for their lives when their high speed diesel train is hijacked by a sociopath in Last Passenger. Determined to crash the last train leaving London, the man destroys the brakes leaving the lives of all of the passengers at stake. The one hour and thirty-seven minute suspense thriller is rated R for language. It’s available in limited theaters.

A new coach comes to revive the American Samoan soccer team in Next Goal Wins. Back in 2001, the team suffered a devastating loss to Australia with a score of 31-0. The team has never won a game and only scored twice in 17 years. Now, with the appointment of new head coach Thomas Rongen, the team must overcome their woes if they’re going to have a chance at qualifying for the 2014 World Cup. The unrated documentary runs for one hour and thirty minutes. It’s available in limited theaters.

A young man poses as a Nazi soldier to find his family and save others from being killed at concentration camps in Walking with the Enemy. The limited released drama is based on real events. The unrated film runs for one hour and fifty-nine minutes.

A Nazi physician sneaks away to Argentina to flee from the Israeli authorities out to get him in The German Doctor. A family takes the man in not knowing who he is and all of the evil he has done while working at the concentration camp in Auschwitz. The PG-13 drama is subtitled in English and is running in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-three minutes.

Take a peek into the mind of British Gonzo artist Ralph Steadman with For No Good Reason. Johnny Depp provides insight into the life and works of his friend and artistic hero who collaborated with famed writer Hunter S. Thompson. The one hour and twenty-nine minute documentary is available in limited theaters. It’s rated R for language, drugs and sex.

A 17-year-old leads a double life in the French drama Young and Beautiful. The coming of age story is told in four chapters through four songs and shows a year in her life as she finds herself and ventures into prostitution. The unrated film has English subtitles and is playing in limited theaters for one hour and thirty-four minutes.

A cop tries to keep the streets clean in this week’s Brick Mansion but next week it’s a superhero who fights crime in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
