The Walking Dead is not slowing down in the ratings. The season four finale drew in over 15.7 million viewers for the shocking finale.
Dead saw a 17 percent increase from last week's viewership and this finale saw a 26 percent increase from the finale last year, Variety reported.
The Walking Dead, which stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus and Lauren Cohan, is the highest-rated show on cable currently and the fourth season averaged 13.3 million viewers an episode.
The Los Angeles Times reported that even though the season four finale was a strong showing for the AMC network it did not set a series record.
This finale did set records on Twitter activity. Dead was the No. 1 non-sports related program of the night on Twitter across all networks. The show had 1.01 million show-related tweets from 356,770 unique individuals.
Talking Dead, which is the aftershow for The Walking Dead hosted by Chris Hardwick, drew in a series record 7.3 million viewers.
