James Cameron is the executive producer of the new documentary series, Years of Living Dangerously, to premiere on Showtime.
"This is such a critical time," Cameron said in an interview with Reuters. "The devastation to the planet that we'll be experiencing in the next century is really, I think, pretty unfathomable for most people, and I think that what the series can do is to bring it home and make it real, make it real in people terms."
Years of Living Dangerously is a documentary about climate change told in nine parts. It features commentary about ongoing issues with Indonesian forests and wildfires in California.
Actors Harrison Ford, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Jessica Alba and Michael C. Hall appear in the series. The documentary also features Arnold Schwarzenegger, who tells the story of a fire season in California that “seemed to last all year,” according to Variety.
Showtime announced Years of Living Dangerously as part of its lineup earlier this year. Other new shows on the network this season include Penny Dreadful.
Years of Living Dangerously will premiere Sunday on Showtime.
