Actor Michael Jace, 48, has been charged with the fatal shooting of his wife. April Jace, 40, was found shot to death in her south Los Angeles home around 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
Police were called to investigate a shooting before they arrived at the couple’s Los Angeles home on Monday evening. TMZ reports that Michael Jace called 911 around 8:30 p.m. and told police, “I shot my wife."
Los Angeles police said in a statement that the incident “is believed to be domestic violence,” reports the LA Times. Jace was detained for questioning Monday night, and was being held Tuesday, May 20, with a bail of $1 million.
Jace is best known for his acting roles in television shows The Shield and Southland. He also starred in the 2009 thriller State of Play.
The couple celebrated their 10-year anniversary in June 2013. They have two young children.
In regards to the children, detective Sal LaBarbera told the LA Times, “At the very least, they heard the shooting."
