Andre Holland joins Martin Luther King drama 'Selma'

Andre Holland who is known for his work in 42, will be staring in the upcoming Martin Luther King drama Selma.

The Hollywood Reporter added that Holland will be playing Andrew Young, who is a well known politician and activist during the civil rights movement in 1965.

The lead role of the film will be played by David Oyelowo will star as Martin Luther King Jr. in the movie. Camern Ejogo will be staring as Coretta Scott King and Tom Wilkinson will play President Lyndon B. Johnson in the feature film.

Selma will be directed by Ava DuVernay, who is known for Middle of Nowhere. The movie will focus on the attempts of African American marchers to walk from Selma to Montgomery.

Selma will also feature some big names in the movie industry as producers including; Oprah Winfrey and her Harpo banner, Plan B's Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner. Pitt and Kleiner won an Oscar for their work on best picture winner, 12 Years a Slave.

Deadline first reported that the film had been acquired by Paramount back in February.
