Avril Lavigne has added a "Meet-and-Greet" option as part of her performances in Brazil that are part of her 30-date South American tour. Fans can pay an additional $400 to stand an arm lengths away from the singer for a photo. That extra $400 does not include the price of a ticket to the concert.
Gawker reported that during the photo session fans are instructed by security guards not to touch or hug the "Hello Kitty" singer. The extra security measures had been put into place following a 2011 performance in Brazil when a fan stormed the stage.
Fans have taken advantage of the photo session and have created some awkward memories with the star.
Following her South American Tour, Lavigne will be heading to North America to join forces with the Backstreet Boys for a summer tour, Billboard reported.
Lavigne recently released the music video for her single "Hello Kitty" and it was met with criticism, racist accusations and having the video pulled from YouTube before it was put back up a day later.
