Daily Wrap of All Things for Friday, May 30: 'Jesus Christ Superstar' cancelled, 'The Arsenio Hall Show,' Kardashian-West Instagram, 'Ferris Bueller' house

By Stephanie Cano,

Here's our daily wrap for Friday, May 30.

The much anticipated Jesus Christ Superstar North American tour has been unexpectedly cancelled just days before its first stop. The announcement was posted on the musical’s website in a brief statement with little explanation of the cancellation on Friday. Speculations of the cancellation surround a recent interview with The Associated Press where producer, Michael Cohl, said the show reached nearly “eight figures” and would need to earn “several hundred thousand dollars” in order for the show to work out.

CBS Television Distribution has announced the syndicated talk program, The Arsenio Hall Show, will not be renewed for a second season. The cancellation comes as a surprise as the show was originally renewed for a second season in February. Despite their respect for Arsenio’s “tremendous talent,” CBS cites poor audience viewership as the reason for pulling the project.

The Kardashian-West union has reportedly broken Instagram’s “like” record. A picture Kim Kardashian posted on her page of their wedding kiss passed 2 million “likes” on the social media site making it an all time record.

The Ferris Bueller’s Day Off house in Chicago sold Thursday for $1.06 million after six years on the market. The sale amount is half the original asking price from when the home went on sale in 2009 for $2.3 million. The home was built in 1953 and is most famously known for appearing in the film, which starred Matthew Broderick.
