Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley is giving the public an exclusive look inside of the star-studded Met Gala, thrown by Vogue’s Anna Wintour every year, by hiding a camera in her purse and secretly taping the entire evening.
Rowley placed a GoPro camera inside of her bag and cut a hole in it to ensure a clear view of the night. As she walked the red carpet, celebrities like a barefoot Girls creator Lena Dunham, Dita Von Teese, Nashville star Hayden Panettiere and designer Donatella Versace.
ABC News notes a couple of celebrities even blow Rowley’s cover and check out her camera.
New York Times reporter Guy Trebay is one to notice the camera, and although there’s no audio for the blurry video, Marie Claire UK reports he said Rowley told him, “I have my Go-Pro in my bag, taping everything.”
The met gala is an annual fundraising event to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Check out our picks for the Top 10 best dressed from this year.
