Drew Goddard has left the upcoming Marvel Daredevil TV series. Goddard was signed on to be the showrunner for the upcoming Netflix series that will tell the story of the Marvel character Daredevil.

Variety reported that this news broke one day after it was announced that Edgar Wright has left the upcoming Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man. Wright has left over creative differences.

The job will now be handed over to writer Steven S. DeKnight who is known for his work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Goddard was also an executive producer on the project and he was set to write and direct the first episode of the series, which is set to air on Netflix Instant streaming next year. Production is set to start this summer in New York.

Goddard has not completely left the project; he will be serving as a consultant on the project but left in order to focus his time and attention to the Spider-Man universe. He is writing and directing the upcoming Sinister Six, which is a villain-focused Sony project that was set up in The Amazing Spider Man 2.

IGN added that the scripts that had been written by Goddard will still be used in the project.
