Eminem has had a poor relationship with his mother, Debbie Mathers, for years, but it seems the “Rap God” rapper is attempting to put that all in the past. He debuted the Spike Lee-directed music video for his Marshall Mathers LP 2 track “Headlights” just in time for Mother’s Day, as his way of apologizing to his mom for his part in the turmoil of their relationship.
Eminem shot the video in his home city of Detroit, Michigan, showing clips off his childhood and even a clip of himself hugging his mom.
“Thank you @spikelee for directing this video for me. Happy Mother's Day,” the rapper tweeted when sharing the link to the video.

In the song, Eminem tells his mom, "But as stubborn as we are, did I take it too far, 'Cleaning Out My Closet, and all them other songs. But regardless I don’t hate you. 'Cause ma, you’re still beautiful to me. ’Cause you’re my mom,” Today.com reports.
