'Girls Gone Wild's Joe Francis arrested for assault

By Kyle Johnson,

Joe Francis, the Girls Gone Wild creator, was arrested Friday night for allegedly assaulting an employee.

According to TMZ, who first reported the arrest, Francis decided to visit his former office, despite a Stay Away order that says he must remain more than 100 feet away from the office.

He entered the building anyway and while security called police an employee tried to bar entrance into the office. That's when Francis shoved the employee and those around the office held the producer until the authorities could show up.

Francis was taken into police custody and was booked on misdemeanor assault, reports CBS LA. He left jail after posting the $20,000 bail.

Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Gary Levy said that they will press to charge the 41-year-old Francis with violating what they called a Stay Away order. Francis was allegedly trying to get some personal photographs that were located at the office.

He spoke with TMZ on his way out of jail and said that new owner of Girls Gone Wild is the person he allegedly assaulted, but the guy has a "business vendetta" against Francis. He also claimed a security guard "manhandled" his pregnant wife and that the Stay Away order should no longer be active.
