Fans hoping for "six seasons and a movie" of Community were dashed of their hopes when NBC cancelled the show after its fifth season. While certainly heartbreaking, with the creators of the show said to be shopping the show around other stations, they knew that hope would not be lost. Sure enough, if recent reports are to be believed, Hulu may possibly make their battle cry a reality.
Deadline revealed the possible pick-up from the online provider. Before fans get too excited, however, the site does stress that, while they are in talks with Sony Pictures TV for new episodes of the program, these talks are preliminary and do not necessarily guarantee a deal.
This does mean that they have an interest in the program, and that there is potentially a future of the show after its cancellation.
Show creator Dan Harmon did address the possibility of the show's continuation on his blog in length, which can be read here. The gist of his comments, however, stress that these deals are not finalized, and that he is not 100 percent sure yet whether or not he wants to continue with the show. Whether or not this is the future of the show, if the show has any future at all, will just have to be determined in the months to come.
