Woody Allen has chosen his next leading man for his upcoming film project and that actor will be Joaquin Phoenix.
Deadline reported that Phoenix has finalized a deal to star in Allen's next project, which is set to start shooting in July.
The project is still tightly under wraps but it is going by the working title of Magic In The Moonlight and will tell the story of an Englishman who is trying to sort out what could be a con taking place during the 1920s in the south of France, The New York Daily News reported.
Phoenix after a very public breakdown is now coming off of the Oscar nominated Her which he also received an acting nomination for from the Golden Globes. He also just wrapped a project with Paul Thomas Anderson titled Inherent Vice.
Allen is known for picking unique actors to bring his characters and overall vision to life, his last views films have been critically acclaimed and Cate Blanchett took home the Oscar for her work in Blue Jasmine.
