Kellie Pickler performing on ABC's 'Nashville' Wednesday

By Andrew Wilson,

Country superstar Kellie Pickler will lend her talents to the ABC show Nashville on Wednesday, performing her latest single, “Closer to Nowhere,"

According to Zimbio, who also had the below exclusive sneak peak, the character Rayna organizes a charity concert at Fort Campbell after she finds out character Luke is injured while in Afghanistan. First Lady Michelle Obama will also be in the episode as herself. ABC announced last month that the two would appear in the same episode.

Pickler is no stranger to performing to our military. In December, she embarked on her seventh USO tour during the holidays, Taste of Country noted at the time. Most recently, with a who’s who of the country superstars, she took the stage in a tribute to the troops in Las Vegas. The show ACM Presents: An All Star Salute to the Troops will air on CBS on May 20.

Pickler is in the midst of touring the southeast, with upcoming dates in Florida, Georgia and Alabama. On May 25, she will join Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, Big and Rich, and several other artists for Red Fest in Austin, Texas.

She will end her current tour with an appearance at Downtown Hoedown in Detroit, Michigan with other acts including The Band Perry and Dierks Bentley.
