Mindy Kaling's 'The Mindy Project' loses series regular Zoe Jarman

By Daniel Levine,

The team at Shulman & Associates just shrunk. Fox’s The Mindy Project, which stars Mindy Kaling, has lost Zoe Jarman, one of the show’s series regulars.

Jarman’s role on the show had continued to shrink in recent episodes, to the point where she would only pop up for a single line or two. She had played Betsy Putch, a naive, shy secretary at the office.

The news was first reported by TV Line and also confirmed by Entertainment Weekly.

Kaling’s co-stars are expected to return for the show’s third season. Chris Messina, Ed Weeks and Ike Barinholtz also star in the series, along with recently added Adam Pally and Xosha Roquemore.

The show has undergone several changes already, including the departure of Anna Camp, who played Kaling’s best friend. Amanda Setton also left to join CBS’ The Crazy Ones.

Jarman has also made appearances on The Office and Modern Family and can be spotted in the film He’s Just Not That Into You.

The Mindy Project airs on Fox on Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. You can check out our latest recap here.
